Bio

I've got an arrest record as long as your arm, but they were all for good causes -- civil disobedience on behalf of gay rights or against South Africa's apartheid, for example. On my 60th birthday, my husband invited 14 friends from around the country to join us for the weekend and then took us all on a limousine ride around Washington DC, stopping for a toast at each place that I had been arrested.

My husband and I have been a couple since 1978 -- that's 134 in gay years -- and we are just as much in love today as we were back then. We have one son who works in TV and movie production in New York City, rubbing elbows with the likes of Martha Stewart, Donald Trump, Jaoquin Phoenix, Alec Baldwin, Christopher Walken, etc. Yes, we are very proud of him.

My musical tastes are fairly eclectic, but I especially like traditional and contemporary folk and Celtic music as well as authentic bluegrass and a little jazz. I love movies and plays and have recently been enthralled by a new passion: opera.
